I know forty plus heads are heavy..
But I think they'll work.. zane seems pretty stiff.
I'll try them out and give an evaluation..
Cheers, Kai

I received my new tcr #4 today, what a fantastic casting machine!! I´m so impressed. The only line I had to try was a xxd#5 and it flew out all the way to the backing line. But it felt a bit heavy though. Just can´t can`t wait until my #4 ED and #4 GPX arrives.. Should be pure pleasure I think. Any...

Thank you for your replies!
Can I overline this rod, or does it perform best with the rated class?

[/quote]But this is one of those 'all else being equal' things, there's more to look at than just rod length. How would you compare the power and action of the rods? Hi Magnus! I´d say the St Croix rod is much faster and stiffer than the 10 foot Bloke rod. But I have also tried the same test with a...

ta, Lee.
My opinion as well... had an xp #5, sold it because the s3 performed better for me.

10" vs 9" 5# distance casting

I´ve made my longest casts with a 10" rod (longest one 35.05meters), but haven`t reached further than 33.5 meters with a 9" rod. Is this because of the extra foot? Or is it a question of different tecniques? Same line was used, the SA xxd. The 10 footer was a bloke xl 50 and the 9 footer ...

I don`t know if this will help you, but I have the s3 9`#5

I must agree with opinions stated earlier...
Sections on a rod doesn`t seem to matter these days on action. Personally I only have 4 or 5-piece rods.. very nice when travelling or walking through woods.
