Agree Sakki.
The spine will change with load.
And the importance of the right,or perfect guide orientation
is a myth in my opinion.
Tom.

Bernd, one way to determine the guide placing is to try to find the direction where the blank goes in a direct line in that test. Hi Sakke. I have tried just that a few times, but when the guides, thread and epoxy was finally mounted, the rod was swirling, and the tracking was indeed not what I expecte...

Of course you can compare damping in a casting situation. After all that's the purpose of good damping! Good damping is sticking or loosing the grip when stopping. No Paul. In my opinion you can not do that. As Merlin says, the speed of recovery,or the frequency will change by the set up. Good dampi...

Hi Bernd. Thanks for the CCS data. :) Hmmm,...come to think of the Hardy Angle TE rod. Would have been nice to know the NF value here. ;) (The unloaded frequency) I agree with Vince,to compare damping in a castingsituation is useless. Anyway,if you run some test, please let us know how you clamp,and...

Is the force an impulse or sinusiodal in a flycast? Hi Tom None of these. It is a more or less variable acceleration followed by a nearly constant deceleration. It is not sinusoidal since it is not symmetrical (longer timing for acceleration by comparison to deceleration), and it is not an impulse ...

Giovanni. In my case the flycast is about acceleration. A positive accelleration makes my flyrod bend, and a negative acceleration makes it unbend. In my world the negative acceleration and unbending of the rod is a stop. If you drive a car and want to stop it,the same thing is happening. So what I...

I think that if we measure the rod with absolute accuracy RSP it doesn't exist. Better to imagine that the rod is straight when the tip goes by the line of the butt, although there is some curve among both areas. Otherwise we can become even crazier :D For a better understanding of casting mechanic...
