Maybe about 10 sessions - I seldom fish full days. My usual fishing and the fishing I really love is on rough spate rivers but I do fish wider rivers with less variable flows from time to time. I've also fished these waters with an 18ft rod and 95ft head but that's because I like fishing the big ro...

Hi Malcolm, How many days a year would you think you fish in such a way? I love fishing a long line, great fun in the right situation but I only find myself in a situation where a long head (Carron 85 or similar) is not a ball ache for about 6 days a year tops. Beauly town water, odd day on the low...

Cool,

Fly into Aberdeen or Inverness.

For anyone flying into Inverness, and needing to get to the venue. Get a train from Inverness to Huntly and from there lifts should be possible.

Cheers

I use Sony Vegas Pro 10 but it is way OTT for anything I will ever ned to do with it. A mate of mine uses power director for stuff shot with his GoPro and the end result is superb. So much so that may ditch Vegas and get a copy myself. Problem with some of the cheaper programs, particularly the in ...

Shame Scott, should be a good weekend. Try not to make it next year and you may find it all works out for you :D

Thanks James,

That helps a lot, far easier than me chasing around last minute :)

Will let you know if I hear of anyone else arriving at a similar time.

Thanks,

Referring mainly to heads here. I've lost about 2 metres today, damp & drizzly with no wind over yesterday when it was dry and crisp with no wind which was down 5 metres on the previous day with crisp clear air skies & a bit of a tail wind.

Cheers

Air Conditions

Out casting a lot at the moment.....

How much distance would one expect to loose going from cold dry feeling air with an ever so slight tail wind to dry still air, to very damp still air?

Cheers

If you've clocked the fact now H, it probably means you are on the mend. We worked it out a while ago.

I said most. Ben, you seem to be the exception. Although I still think that there must be some other factors too. There must be a logical explanation why most don't wear them out and some do. If they destroy the Dremmel stones they can't be so fragile and soft, can they? Yup, can't quite get...

It is very interesting that those who use rods with Recoils like them, most of the negative feedback comes from anglers who either have heard from someone that they suck or only had a couple of casts with them. I mainly fish Helios which are factory built with Recoils and had my custom TCR built wi...

Didn't like the Z Axis in that particular configuration either really, ZXL 590 is a sweet rod though and the SLT690 makes a nice #5 rod.

Thanks Torsten, What I'm trying to determine is whether or not the minimas will wear better than a standard H&H chromed snake. Even small Ti SiC guides could make a rod feel a bit chewy but I'd rather have that than guides that give up too quickly and, I;m also looking for the lowest friction. ...
