Beautiful fish! Any Permit is a trophy but that fish is something different. Fish of a lifetime.

Hi Grunde,

I use Rio Camolux on my 5wt for lake fishing. Thin diameter, slick, and sinks about 1.5-2 inches per second. Camolux coils much less than the Orvis Intermediate I was using but still needs a good stretch in cold conditions.

It really seems to blend in with slightly stained water.

Hey Charlie,

Fought the fish hard for 10 minutes, got it to the boat 3 times. Had it on it's side, guide was about to grab it and the leader popped.

Double Grand Slam 8-24

My Girlfriend and I fished Chetumal Bay, Yucatan August 21-26. On our arrival day, August 20th, a Cat 1 hurricane went ashore about 30 miles south of us. I didn't have high hopes for the week but was mistaken. August 21, first day and shaking the rust off. Bonefished most of the day, maybe caught 3...

I've fished Baja in July, Isla Ceralvo area. Bring Sardina patterns in olive and black over white on 2/0 - 3/0 hooks. Seahabit patterns work well also. Little or no flash on most flies, especially for the tuna. The bait size should be 3-5 inches that time of year. Crease flies work great on the Dor...

If you have the time, there are deals to be had, especially during winter. I have a Tibor Gulfstream and an Abel Super 12 (both were new). I paid less than $400 each on Ebay.
