That you see fit to criticise his execution of it doesn't necessarily mean that the idea is without merit. I think if the idea had as much merit as you think his execution would be better. Its a hurried uncontrolled mess with little thought being applied to application and purpose IMHO. Im all for ...

Hi Saul, This might help. Regards, Tony. It doesnt seem to have done that guy much good, it just looks to me to be poorly controlled flailing of a salmon rod. I would suggest you start with LH basic roll casts and overheads, this will get you a sense of feeling and get you beyond the uncomfortable ...

We have the second half of a cast in blury slo-mo to comment on There isn't a first half - I haven't progressed that far yet with a DH'er :D . Im not knocking you James, there are lots of guys here who could give you some good help but without seeing the whole cast in reasonable quality anything of...

Most importantly nobody can see anything about what you are doing on that clip so I wouldnt pay much heed to any feedback. If you want good advice you need to provide something distinguishable and long enough for us to constructively work with. Hi my name is nobody.... Try and enlarge the slowmo cl...

Ive cast both rods but fished with neither one extensively.

The Loop is a little firmer while still bending quite deeply. I dont really see that there is much point in trading one for the other.

Somewhere near equally and opposing. That said, it wont be long before some scientist tells me otherwise! :D

In Spey casting it was the accepted method of anchor positioning. I don't think it achieved anything, but it's only comparatively recently have we really concentrated on how the anchor looks. Cheers, Paul Hi Paul, My first spey casting lesson was with Peter Mackenzie-Phillips, the king of the crash...

Slack line as Lasse says is certainly one thing, instability in the forward loop is another. Wouldn't that be due to the slack line in the piled anchor though? Instability in the forward traveling loop can come from the anchor not being aligned to the target. If the anchor picks up from the water a...

Is really excessive line stick the result of a piled anchor? What is your opinion? I guess it would depend on just how 'piled' the anchor was. The average piled anchor that I see is usually overcome with little more if any extra effort and rarely does it cause excessive line stick. I wouldn't sugge...

Its just a hurried double spey, the rod tip goes through all of the standard movements to be a double spey, he takes the rod tip far enough upstream and with enough speed to move the anchor to where he needs it, then he just doesn't give the line time to settle before sweeping into his d-loop. It a...

Hi Lasse, hi Alan, Simon Gawesworth explains the Single Spey to have a change of direction between 45 and 60°. He teaches to lift the tip to ten o'clock and then go down, down and up during the sweep to the key position, and forward cast. On the Switch cast he teaches to have no change in direction...

Hi Alan (and everyone else), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htZ_vVW7AbM what kind of cast was that? To me it looks like a jump roll cast and I am not sure if someone would cast further with a Single Spey? Greets Bernd Its a single spey Bernd and as Lasse said it has a 30 degree COD, we know this be...
