The rate of wave passage along (and through) the line is directly (But non linearly) proportinal to the tension of the line." You're there. Carl Will my loops face ground speed decrease when ive finished whiplashing and the added tensions lost...... ??? Hi Lee, Yes if there is a reduction in t...

Most Welcome Jay. Jump on the Bus to "The Stroke is only a means of optimally tensioning the line ready for wave transfer" Once you see that "bending the rod is not the important part, unbending the rod is" press the bell to get off and when the bus stops at "The rate of wa...

Bloody hell! :) :) :) :) Deja Vu! Would you like some more questions thrown in to take you towards the light? :) For example, Why is the increase in loop speed greater than is should be when we pull back on a formed loop? The increase in velocity is more than the increase we should see from a strig...

Hi Paul, Just heard through the grapevine about the casting at the weekend. Phenomenal Stuff mate! Is this the first time that 130ft has been topped in any competition? Its upped the Ante again as I've only personally hit the 130 once and (still) can't do it again with a 5 weight. Might need to loo...

Oh! And I've finally found out what the "Shop wiggle" tells you about a rod! It's all to do with where the dead spot is on the rod versus how far the fip deflects in comparison to the opposite occilation :)

See, It's not a waste of time after all :)

Cheers,
Carl

Hi Carl and all, Interesting topic. But I wonder if the original questioning maybe has been somewhat misunderstood (could very well be me that has misunderstood the whole thing, wouldn’t be the first time :p ) But Isn’t this topic about the ability to at will put a sharp single point in the front o...

Casting Points, Not loops?

Hi All, Long Time since I've been on the boards, Not enough hours in the day :) A quick question for you... How many of you can cast "points" instead of loops? By points I mean no real loop form only a single, very pronounced point Like Ian is doing Here This point is uniform regardless o...

Hi All, With the limitation of 6 minutes or whatever the time is in the specific competition entered and the prevailing condotions on the day, its unlikely that anyone will throw their PB in that time. At the weekend I was averageing 125 to 126 ft (Measured, no wind, Sage TCR, Guideline Highwater o...

Hi Brian, I tried throwing you a bone, about 500 pages of bones. :) OK, First of all, there's absolutely nothing wrong with Bills 5 essentials. They are excellent. But Batteries are not included. My comments about the fly casting mechanics being a hinderance are based on those knowing them seeing t...

Thanks guys. An overpowered hump mend (bucket cast) sends the wave all the way down to the end of the line, where the line end flips over and lays in a 180 degree curve. Am I correct in saying that amount of line reversed is equal to the amplitude of the wave and not the force delivered? See, I kne...

Does any one have good way to build Mylar tube Zonkers with out using and chemicals or smelly hot glue, that hold up as well as the superglue way? You could try tying some Mono to the hook shank like a reversed weed guard. Slide the mylar over the hook shank and mono and it will hold the mylar off ...
