OK, so my last comments in this thread: a rod can start unloading before the end of acceleration, it is a matter of a few 1/100 seconds and nobody cares but me. Merlin - F=ma In this case the F can be measured by the bend in the rod.... Hal, this is not correct! There is not a one-to-one relation b...

I was only interested in a case where the input force over time function is fixed. Fixed force over distance function would be restricted by the spring. An interesting one to take a look at, but I doubt I'll the have patience to do the math. Hmm. The fixed force over distance would actually be the ...

Answered.
I know Grunde could solve this, just by modifying this a bit:

Depends on your preferences. Titanium frame lined guide(s) as strippers. For the rest, if you want crisp, use Recoils. The downsides might be wear and cost. Use snake type if you fear sound. Tip either normal chromed or titanium framed lined one. The chromed one may rust thou. If cost and a bit of ...

F1(t)=F2(t)=F3(t)=F4(t) and so in the brick's view there is no difference if there is a spring or not. Sakke, F1(t)=F2(t) and F3(t)=F4(t) in your drawing, but F2(t) will not equal to F3(t) in the case of the spring. That is what Merlin's model is all about. But it is in case a) - just like I wrote....

We have a ring that pulls a weight on frictionless surface via spring. F1(t) is a function over time of the force the ring pulls the blue string attached to the red spring. The t is from 0 to x seconds. At t=x, the string is cut from the ring. In case a) We have a case where the spring is massless,...

Btw, the normal recoil tip top will wear line fast since the tube tip is against the line on forward cast. I've put a bit of glue on them, but will not get another one. Left in the pic. On my FT905-4 I have the double loop one. No problems with that. Right on the pic. The pic is not mine, I went on...

Just took my 25x magnification tool (that is used to visually inspect holes that dye penetrant testing exposes) and checked a few guides. I was able to find wear on the recoil tip ring of my comp/training/fishing rod Five Rivers FT905-4. Nothing to worry about yet thou. I didn't find anything on re...

As said, my distance rod that is also my primary single handed fishing rod has the thin recoil single foots. Not a sign of wear. This is the only rod that really sees casting without water. The blank is actually great on the rod that I have the ti-sic guides on. Super stiffness to weight ratio. Dan...
