Well, we had them in Orvis here in Edinburgh, but they're sold out now. You could try here. (Scroll down past the girly stuff - or not, depending on your taste...).

Also, Barbour do a decent alternative.

Cheers

Ah.

If it's nothing serious then, can we have him back, for Christmas. You know - season of goodwill and all of that?

Ta.

I've been trying the slim beauty too, nice knot.
Other alternatives include using a tiny swivel or a welded ring between the wire and the mono,

Yep, I'm currently using the heavier leader rings. Very simple and neat.

I use the albright and it stuck during a good run of fish that eat 'cudas for breakfast. Never had the knot fail on me. However, as with all knots for tropical fishing: check and double check them. As for curling up wire: Lars, give Knot2kinky a try, it is a single strand titanium/nickel wire that ...

Secondly, again genuinely, I have no real interest in asking as its not my place. I trust those making the decisions now, they seem to be making the right ones to me. I'm sure they are informed enough to know what they are doing and why. Wow. That is one of the most breath-taking paragraphs I've re...

Found this which mentions Montana Fly in the US. Couldn't find the kits on the MF site, just pics of finished flies. Maybe ping them an e-mail?

Reminds me of Carl Richards latex crab flies.

I do wonder if mortality is directly related to the type of fish being caught. Someone mentioned stocked fish. I was talking to a fishery owner friend of mine and he reckons stocked rainbows are way more sensitive to (mis)handling than wild trout. This factor combined with often-appalling fish hand...

I have read something to the effect that people think barbless hooks penetrate more deeply and (for some unknown reason) move around more in the fishes mouth. I've heard carp anglers complain about the same thing. It'd be good to see the study and understand what fish and what hooks were used. I al...
