I'm going to be doing some GT fishing soon, from the shore mainly, and was wondering was is the best # and make rod for casting/holding fish? I may end up borrowing a rod as I don't think it'll get the use it fully deserves plus I can't afford to have rod sitting in the cupboard not getting used re...

Those are great fish Gonzo, I imagine they are real trophies. What kind of water depth are you pulling them from? Looks like some sort of Mullet and a Garfish... the others I'm not so sure of.

I thought they had bonito (in numbers) out there?

Late reply I know but thanks guys. I had been using 29ft but have cut back a tad.
I like the outbound lines but the connections don't always last.

Keep your fly choice very simple; deep clouser minnows are probably OK for 70% of your shore fishing and these days I like to have them in dark colours such as black & orange or black & brown, all black or Olive. I also like a heavily weighted, black whistler, type fly (a google search will...

Lee Why not join BASS www.ukbass.com There are quite a few members who fish up that way and I'm sure they would point you in the general direction. Failing that, the society's 'members only' forum may well give you some more clues as to what, where & how. I'm sure you won't want things on a pla...
