Salmon rivers in Europe - Where, how big, best period, how much?

Hi all!
I want to plan my first salmon trip. Does somebody have any experience with the salmon fishing in any european country? Can you share your experience? I want to know:
- where you've fished?
- when?
- what you've caught?
- how much was a permit and how to get it?
Thanks a lot.
