What knot? - Nylon to fluocarbon.

I need to add a fluorcarbon tippet of 12 lbs to a 16 lb nylon leader. What knot would you suggest?

Loop Opti reels - Brittle or not?

Hi all. I've done a search and could not find an answer to this question so. Can anyone tell me if they own a Loop Opti, and if they find them a little brittle. I'm just about to buy the Opti speedrunner, but don't want to make any mistake. Also what is the after-sale service like with Loop? Thanks...

I tend to use a furled leader at the moment, so the nylon is out. What would be the best floss to try? Would you tie it on or just loop it between the leader loop, and leader loop?

Thanks.

Simple sighter on fly line end? - Any advice?

I'n trying to make my flyfishing more simple, I find it can get more complicated. Example. I'm trying to fish just one rod for my nymph fishing and dries. I'm fine with dries, no problem but when I use nymphs due to age (my eyes) and line colour I don't always see the takes. Does anyone have a simp...

On most streams I fish, you could use one nymph all season but in different sizes, and maybe just chance the colour? Regarding dries/duns it's much the same, however I find the emerger stage by far the most difficult stage to fool trout. But in truth I don't know why? I do think on many technical w...

Lightweight jacket. - Not vest.

Hello all. I'm after a summer lightweight fly fishing jacket. Cotton with a nice length, much like a normal jacket, but with plenty of pockets. I'm trying to get away from a vest in summer. I like the Orvis Zambezi but at £180 it's too expensive. In winter I have a Tweed coat that does betetr than ...

French leaders. - Home Made.

I would like to build a home made French leader of around 20' or so.

Can anyone give me the dynamics so I could build one? I have a lot of Maxima in various sizes to use up.

It burns my ass to pay £10 for one!!

Thanks.
