Thanks, Mike. And for the silver Invicta, you just use tinsel in stead of the seal fur?

I guess I need to try the Invicta this summer - but could I get one of you gentlemen to list the complete dressing?

I can accept and practice C&R if local regulations ask for it or if it is necessary for the conservation of a certain population of fish that would be to voulnerable to survive the take out of fish by anglers. However, even if we have problems here and there, in most of our rivers salmon actual...

I can confirm that this fish is indeed a salmon. The analysis shows that it is an old fish. It left for the sea first time at 5 years old, and has later spent 5-7 years in the sea. At the time of catching, it was on it's way to it's third spawning. The scientists say that the typical sea trout char...

Stewart´s spiders are pretty successful everywhere, and not often used anymore. No exotic materials are required. Brown spider: Body Brown silk. Hackle: Cock starling palmered over front third of body. ( Or longer if desired). If necessary a fine black hen hackle may be substituted. Rib: Optional, ...

I have the Shewey and the Veverka ones, and pretty much agree with what Magnus says. I would like to add, however, that for learning purposes I would put my money on Shewey. He offers more detailed instructions on various techniques for hackling, winging etc. Also, Veverka's book has a very compreh...

I use VersiTips both on the 7- and 5-weight, and am very pleased. I have never experienced any trouble with the loop connection. As Simon says, the loops are small and welded, and I hardly notice them at all, whether inside or outside the top ring.

Thanks, Lars, for your input! I guess I'll get some more of these hooks, then... Eric: Thank you for your advice. The problem I had earlier, was that I was unable to upload attached photos even if they were well within the size limits. Anyway, it seems to have worked this time, so then everything i...

Alec Jackson trout hooks

I have been using Alec Jackson's hooks for my spey flies, but today my dealer gave me a sample of two AJ hooks called "Crystal soft hackle trout fly hooks" and "Crystal north-country trout fly hooks", obviously they are modelled after old hooks that AJ used many years ago. They ...

Since everyone are offering photos of their flies, I thought I'd have a go at presenting my projects for the world to criticise... ??? These days, I'm working on the salmon fly boxes, and tie some of these: http://home.online.no/~hennilu/mb2.jpg And some of these: http://home.online.no/~hennilu/jo....

Actually I think I have been quite good! I have more or less filled all the empty spaces in the nymph and spider section of my box, tied some 50-odd Klinkhammers of various sizes and colours, made a good stock of CDC and Elks and tied some interesting french flies based on CDC and Coque de Leon tha...

I have used the Danvise for the last three years and have been very pleased. During the autumn, though, the delrin construction has become increasingly unstable, so I decided to change it for another rotary vice, and ended up treating myself to a DynaKing Barracuda. I have had it for a week now, an...

Ben's legs

Ben is concerned about the linguistic consequences of his name, and I can confirm that the word "ben", in Norwegian, is leg(s) or bone. :D (The sideline work thing I don't know about, must be Danish or something... ). Poor guy! But I have seen worse cases; A friend of mine at Uni proudly ...
