I had this happen on 2 RPLs some 20 (or was it 30 !) years ago Bruce. Sage considered it was a fault as water had penetrated the blank. I was told at the time that the only way to remove it was to re bake the blank. Don't know if that was true. Sage allowed me to keep the rods, built by me from bla...

Another vote from me for Riversheds. Nothing beats felt but I have found 'sheds to be the best out there right now. I like others would not consider using them without studs. Mine start to go bald on the sole after 3 months daily fishing in NZ. They then get relegated to the gentle UK conditions ! ...

I find Riversheds wide and comfortable.

Also durable. Done 2 trips to NZ - 4 months in total and a year in the UK. Still going strong.

Best boots I have ever had.

Would be even better with felt soles but that is a no no these days.

Cheers

Hi Bass

I have been using Optilabs Panthers in low light yellow for a good while now. Find them excellent and good value.

Based in Croydon, UK.

Have been there and also ordered by phone/email with no probs.

Cheers

It's $100 and you get $40 credit - http://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobile-broadband/choose-a-device.jsp All NZ phones are sold unlocked by law so you should can use them elsewhere. I was using one with a Pannon SIM card in Hungary. Cheers, Paul That's the sort of deal I was looking for! Thanks Paul Cheer...

I was leaving tomorrow arriving 19th Paul but someone parked a 4X4 on my foot and the resulting fractured metatarsal means I have had to put it back to arrive 16th Feb. Arrive Cchurch and probably heading norwest initially depending on conditions. Borrowing one would be great if it fitted in with y...

Hi Rods are a very personal choice. BUT – The Orvis Frequent Flyer 5 wt is a great backup rod. Being 7 piece it is easy to fit in your backpack and is there when you need it – possibly 3 hours walk out. Carrying a 4 piece backup is not as convenient. The FF is a cheap, crisp fishing tool, lighter t...

Hi Lars

It is a single clear strand gel spun thread. Slightly slippery and stretchy (which I find an advantage). Works great for me.

They sell it here in the UK. Is this sort of link allowed btw ?
