Yeah, I was glad to have moved fish for sure! Special regs that ban all weight either in the fly or tippet, basically no nymphing. I'm certain some people do very well at times, but from those I talked to there were more fishless days than the landed. These are very good questions.... :D I've got v...

Is their a general rule for tippet length

Chris, 3 to 3.5 rod length for tippet or the whole thing??

Slack,
If you're talking length of mono from fly to line... swinging fast sink tips, I typically have 3-4 feet of 15LB. Drifting or swinging floating line with very heavy fly, 6-7 feet of 6LB.

Yes, even a conventional paypal could do it (was thinking there'd be less fees with non-profit). There are other donation / crowdsourcing websites, but it should be setup on the receiving end.

Casting pledge or auction or... ? I'm game to help

Sakke, Have an uncle that made it through this (not completely unchanged). It's very rough :( Do you know if they have an easy donation method around? Something like paypal non-profit ? Might be kind of good to have a Casting Pledge setup in conjunction with the Norway 2012 Competition. Say... pled...

I'm guessing that none of us want to restrict ourselves to one favorite! Thriving on details, I'm sure if you gave a specific situation you'd get more. If you mean a general floating trout line to be used for multiple presentations on a single hand 5 or 6 wt.... ? :D I've been using the SA MED (in ...

Shooting Line (scandi head)

Been using rio standard running line on my 2h scandi setup, but was sort of looking for something a little stiffer and maybe a little smaller for more distance. Kind of something between Amnesia and a typical coated running line, preferably floating. Any suggestions? A SW running line?

Something like this? or this? It's a US source but they do sell to the public (overpriced but ok for small lots).

If you have trouble, shoot me a PM. We can work it out.

US customary units of course

Campbell!

"Manshit or Dumbshit" should be a weekly FP or article :D

That's when Crawford's dog, Bleux, grabbed him by the cuff of the jeans, creating a bizarre riverbank tug-of-war.

Same here Z man. They start floating (sometimes move fish a long way) but swirl or soggy then they sink. Passed floating over the fish twice and it didn't even notice. Next cast 6" deep, fins came out, tail kick and gulped it with a big head turn. :D Next fish, bit off the hackle to be sure it...

Please send message when you've scheduled my flight so I can consult in person

We get a lake cutt or two that big every year, but those are extraordinary all bets off on landing them. Using 8 or 10 LB tippet for streamers and able to land fish to 12 LB without bust offs (uni-knots).

Bourbon can only come from Kentucky ;)

Yes, you pretty much need to find a liquor store in all the mountain west states (CO, Wyo, Montana, Idaho).

There are a few distilleries in CO. No idea which is best.
