2 and 3 are distances of hands from ICR. 1 is distance from the ICR to lever end (tip) 4 is "alternative route" for the same lever.

Basically if the ICR would stay at the same place (bearing for example) and the rod the same amount bent trough the cast, we could use instead lever with parts 1&2, 2&3&4, 3&1, 3&4 and the result would stay the same.

For another point of view on this subject, wouldn't pulling with the bottom hand allow a more upward launch with the top hand and therefore a higher tip trajectory/less doming?

Cheers, Paul

"Hi, I read thru all these 30+ pages and thru all pages on the other threads about Fulcrum as well. A lot of things I understand but some I (yet) don't (due to my English).

Here is how I see the term "Point, Fulcrum or Pivot" for now:

I will use "POINT" or better "TRAVELER POINT" which travels in SLP.

It can go horizontal, travel in upward and downward direction. These traveler point should be in our upper hand which gives path (keeping the straight path for the tip).

Bottom hand mainly gives the SPEED to the line.

Where our top hand will be exactly depends on our stile, line and other.

SH (Shooting Head) - for short line this point in our top hand is closest to bottom hand. Bottom hand travels less but speed of top of the rod is fastest. If we do the same with more distance between top and bottom hand, the speed on the top will decrease.

Reading all posts I mark where is missing this part about Load, Bend in begging cast.

BODY... most of all forgot that with a long line body take important place.

And because of that we can divide 50/50 top/bottom hand or other excluding part of power which the rod got from our body.

Generally all percent start from body. Having a look at all videos being linked here we can see that significant percentage of force is started with body movement and other from bottom hand.

I hope my English is understandable..

Thanks To Bernd, helping with English. Cheers

Speed, or actually velocity is integral of acceleration over time. And acceleration is force divided with mass. So there is a relation between velocity and force.
And from geometry we know the force balances and they are pretty close to each other between hands regardless which one moves.
