Spey casting records

A quick query.... as someone asked me the question and I didn't know the answer

Are there different distance records for different lengths of double handed rods?
If yes, what are they?

There are records for 15' and I think 16' too. I think Gordon still holds the 15' record, this was set at Speyorama, can't remeber exact distance but I think it was in excess of 60 yards.

Why'd you ask, have you started practicing for that too?

I dunno.... if my 'head' (= mental state) is in the right place to begin with then the rest is just casting

So was I, when you consider there's more than just 18ft tournament rods out there I thought the information on 'class records' might have been more 'out there' like it is for single handers. Still, I have an answer for the question I was asked.

I think Eirik Hernes Larsen has got the 15' spey casting record. He casted 55 meters in the world championship at Fagernes 2010. Gordon Armstrong had a really long cast in Spey O Rama 2010, but that was during practice, not in the competition.
