Mike--Glad you liked what you grabbed (technically, I guess it's what I grabbed, but hey...). The "shaved eyebrow" flies are from the "Heritage Collection," just for you...

I know that the reel is about four sizes too big for either of the two rods, but now you are encouraged to expand your salmon/salt sticks!

Happy holidays, and thanks again, Mike, for supporting the auction.

Hi Mike,

Can you make a close-up on the streamers with the large hackle sides. They look kinda interesting...

Well, I'm sorry, Timmy, but I don't dip that way...

Here you are Peter, according to Jason they are ''Jungle Cock Rock salmon/steelhead flies, which can also catch all sorts
of fish, but were designed for steelhead originally.''

Is that for real Steelhead Jason, or Greatlakes Steelhead? Matt wants to know. Very nice tie btw. Rich

Rich--Real.

Matt--Catches GL fish just fine, though... :;):

FYI--That's a Dec Hogan pattern. And that fly was commercially tied (not bad for being one in a few thousand, huh?) I have some of the other Hogan commercial patterns and they are equally as well-done.

Yeah, yeah. Steelhead, blah, blah. Whatever.

Incidentally, Jason, do you remember meeting me and tying flies together at Arricks Fly Shop a few years back when your Dad was running schools through the shop?

Dec is a fine teacher and tier. Saw him at Spey Clave last year. Never fished the JC Rock, myself.

Thanks a lot, Mike! Interesting fly/idea. Kinda envoloping squirrel wing with jungle cock spades. Hairwing/featherwing combo. Best from both worlds. Must get Dec Hogan's book at some point...

Matt--Arrick's? That was a few years back... I think the last school my father ran through the shop was what, 7 or 8 years ago? Incidentally, I may be headed your way (Pac NW) sometime sooner rather than later. I'll let you know if I get out there this winter/spring...

Dec is a good guy, a good caster, and has good flies, too. I fished the 'Rock for the first time this fall on [insert gasp] GL fish. Actually, the very first fish that I put it over was a coho that nailed it on the third pass...then ran under a log.
