Hi Rich,

There is another option,
If you have tele photo lenses,
Kenko extension tubes is another solution,
They will enable you to get up close,

Unlike the Nikon extension tubes, you have full Auto exposure and shutter readings,

If you finally get hooked on close-up, there are programs that enable you to take several images at different focal lengths and then merge them to get that "tricked up" depth of field
I think "Combine ZP" a program that does this, is still free,
