Jeroen as strange as it may seem I think blue over white is the least effective saltwater fly colour in this country. Olive, yellow, tan, chartreuse, gray, pink toppings all work but blue seems to not be so effective. (All white is very good)

Thanks for the advice Peter. I have a bunch of chartreuse and white and pink and white tied up as well.
And funny about the colour. As Mark says, blue/black and white is a standard fly colour for Atlantic species. Just like white and a red head. Those colours have accounted for 90 percent of my bass on fly.
Mark, how about this monster I tied for probing the deep wrecks we fish on the Brown Bank and the Silver Pit. Best venues for double figure bass in the North Sea.

Kakahi - as usual, quite astonishing photo! Keep them coming!

Great flycasters don't think straight - they track straight.....

If it moves - and shouldn't, use duct tape...
If it's stuck - and should move, use WD40...

No, I didn't try to catch it. It's a very handy fish, and spends a bit of time in the sun, lending itself to a bit of photography :;):
I didn't want to upset it too much.

If it is the same fish (same spot) here's some more of it...

...and on that occasion it was caught :D
