15ft Carron Competition rod - winner of 3 world championships
For auction is my Carron 15ft, 11 weight, competition rod.
This is arguably the finest competition rod in the world and is the only one of its kind.
It is responsible for two world records and many championship wins including:
3 world Spey casting championships at Spey O Rama, San francisco.
Rypesekkan International, Norway
Tweed Fair International
The rod has a fairly deep action, but requires a long belly line to achieve this.
Although the rod was primarily used for competition casting, it is also a good fishing rod, having landed salmon to 23lb.
It is finished to the highest standard, with a black matt finishing, burgundy whippings over snake eyes. There is the finest, silver finish reel seating, suitable for any reel foot on the market. It has the following signature: Handcrafter for Gordon Armstrong. No 20
Included is the carron tweed, rod sleeve.
It has signs of wear and tear as would be expected for a seven year old rod.
The retail price of this rod is somewhere in the region of £1500.
I am hoping that you can all dig deep for this amazing man. I have spent a lot of time with Knut over the years, and can't emphasise enough how incredible he is, in the bid to beat this dreadful disease.

My hat is off to you Gordon.
I hope someone with understanding of the value of this piece and help to Knut that Gordon is offering, will step up and lay out the proper dough.

Well done Terek, and thanks for taking part in the auction. I hope the rod is as successful for you as it was for me.
Also a big thanks to Carron rod and lines http://www.carron.uk.com/index.php , for donating this fine rod, for what is a very worthy cause.

Hey that's fantastic!! Gordon, I don't know if you know Aleksey? He's a bloody good caster, and managed to beat me in every event in Ukraine this year :glare: :p
There's been some question as to how to get the rod to him. Maybe easiest if Alex Titov delivers it? Otherwise I can deliver, but that would only be at the Mayfly festival in Ukraine next year.
Cheers, Paul

Great flycasters don't think straight - they track straight.....
If it moves - and shouldn't, use duct tape...
If it's stuck - and should move, use WD40...
