XP Search

Post by Herring »

Hi All

A long shot I know but does anyone know where I could get a Sage XP 590-4? Failing that is there anything currently available that's close?

Herring :)

I've got mine (6 wt) (no 5 wt tho') at anglerspro. seems that they have the widest selection, still.

Thanks guys, I have looked on Ebay over the last few days, lots of other XP's but no 5wt's as yet :glare:

Regards the CPS (Redington?), just how close is it? I do understand that it's tricky to put how a rod 'feels' down in words!

TCX 5wt, or too stiff?

Thanks again - Herring :)

Cast one recently (guy at club lake) to be honest, ok, but felt a bit dated.............

Hi, when you say dated do you mean in terms of weight and blank recovery speed?
I'm open to other options but I no longer buy blind, learnt my lessons on that front! I was thinking XP in part purely because I fished with one 4 or 5 years ago. I'm well behind regards Sage's latest offerings, only cast the Z-Axis 590-4 and wasn't that keen, light feel to it but I didn't like the way the rod bent. I've not cast any TCX's or One's.

In addition anglers-pro does have the 905-4 listed in stock, but @ 499 you probably get one off ebay (lightly used) 330-60ish.
