Rrw35,
Mate, they had a real problem with soles coming off, everyone I know that had them had the same problem, sucking off in mud and levering off when walking over rocky ground, I lost both soles in one day at Penstock Lagoon.i had two pairs of the first lot of stud connection type not the older Velcro fastened soles, One bloke I know glued his sole on.

This is a big deal!
I don't think the Korker system allows you to use your whole footbed for traction. And who caries all the soles with them anyways?

I use the (too heavy) Simms Guide boots (with star cleats) now (for the past 3 seasons), and I like them except for the weight. They still look fairly new.
I loved the original Cloudveil stealth 8x boots, as they were really lightweight and the traction was superb.

My next pair will likely be the lighter Riversheds.
