Hi,
I am thinking about getting the Sage One 586, has anybody some first-hand experience with this rod?
Sage seems to market this one as a dry fly rod for small to medium water, so I expect it to be not as stiff as the 590 for example?
I am a bit torn between the One and a ZXL 586 which is on sale...
Will get the ZXL 580 too...
Thanks and cheers,
Klaus

I can't comment on the One586, but I think the One overall misses some of the "magic" of the ZXL...Am thinking getting a ZXL 590, too...
as I have the One 690 - I think it is definitely not a stiff rod...(maybe I just got accustomed to much more stiff rods in that class...)

Klaus, I haven't fished the ONE 586-4 but have cast with it, on grass, for an hour or so. I used my own reels/lines and was most impressed with its willingness to handle whatever #5 or #6 line I put on it. At the heavy end of the scale it liked the 13.6g Barrio SLX ...
It didn't strike me as a small to medium rivers, dry fly rod; it did make me wonder if the 486-4 would be better suited to the small/medium rivers I fish
