Just wondered if fly fishing was worth it on the East coast around Skegness?
It's a very shallow beach, but do sea fish like flatfish, sole etc take flies?

I have caught a fair number of flounder on flies. You need some tidal current and preferably some channels with deeper water. They are often foraging on the dropoff of these channels. If they are around and willing to take a fly you can catch loads of thm.
I fished for them with trout gear: a four weight and scuds on a long leader worked well for me. Did catch a brill on fly once and a couple of dab, never had the pleasure of hooking a sole on fly. But that might be because they are generally nocturnal feeders.
