SL abbreviations

Post by ennio »

Get it, SL = sexyloops :O
Can we have some kind of sticky page, like Casting Definitions, where site abbreviations are defined. I had struggled with discussions about RSP1 and RSP2 and having to guess what these terms might mean.
I did a search and have found these:

MCF = Maximum Counterflex
RSP = Rod Straight Position
RSP1 = Rod Straight Position after Unload
RSP2 = Rod Straight Position after Rebound
LSP = Loop Straight Position
MAV = Maximum Angular Velocity
CL = Chord Length
MCL = Minimum Chord Length
CF = Counterflex
MRF = Maximum Rod Flex
LBR = Late Butt Rotation
FC = Forward Cast
BC = Back Cast
CS = Casting Stroke
CA = Casting Analyzer
MED = SA Mastery Extreme Distance flyline

or more correctly I found some and edited them to suit myself.
I know it's a bit girly writing stuff down becuase once you've done that you can't argue about it

Cheers Holger

When the distance between the rod tip is closest to the rod butt during the casting stroke. There's sone good use of it in Grunde's videos!
It's an exploration; bring flyrods.

while under load the shortest the rod can get, measured in a straight line from tip to butt.

imagine an archer's bow at rest... the bow represents the rod bent, it's string is the chord length.
