What Knut shows in that video is very common on most casters I see:
Very top hand dominanted on the bc and much less top hand dominated on the fc.
Only a few of all these casters realize that they are doing it completely different on both casts.
Interesting exercise to play with!
From the video I cannot say if Knut adds more force via top or bottom hand on the fc.
I think it doesn't matter which one is "dominant" exactly here.
Of course with such a long head he brings in the top hand much more than he does it usually on the shorter heads.

In Knut's video at 00:41, you would see his top arm grip around the cork consisting of only his thumb, his ring and pinkie finger. This is a common grip that is dominantly a pivot.
Now, if he was applying force with his top arm, the aforementioned grip is not commonly used but one where more fingers are in use.
It seems to me that his top hand for this long rod/ line combo is much further away from the body so he 1) achieve a long rotation in Phase 1, 2) having a far enough pivot that leaves him with the clearance to travel the lower butt all the way to his chest, a much longer stroke for longer tip travel in phase 2.
