I'm curious to know what length leaders - in relation to the length of the spey rod - most casters prefer, for both light and heavier flies.
Seems that most folks think the leader - including the polyleader - should be 1 1/2 times the length of the spey rod when casting a light fly.
Thanks,
Randy

Göran Andersson (S) uses such long leaders also in the Single hand, now the front taper of his line is rather short.
He recommends as an example, 6,25 meters on a Cl. 5 line.
On the twohand he recommends over 5 meter tapered nylon leaders, he makes it depending on the size of fly.
Smaller flies..up to 6,4 meters, larger and heavier flies...so 4 meters.
Besides, however, follows the big beginning diameter of his floating (!) line, he uses only for atlantic salmon in Norway.
