MORE praise for CTS

Post by bass »

Guess how long it takes for CTS, in New Zealand to make a one-off special blank, and get it to me in the UK?

Yup, 12 days!

Its an Affinity X, 9' 6" 5wt, but in FIVE pieces, so that it goes into luggage easily.

She's sweet! Here's how I've dressed her - with not very much :-)

- Stuble saltwater proof reelseat with fighting butt
- 2 x single leg Fuji titanium strippers
- single leg gunsmoke guides
- note lack of ferrule wraps: unnecessary using their manufacturing process. See bottom of this page

Very cool build mate. I like the minimalist look.

Very nice! Definitely a rod I would like to try :)
Where do you buy the components for your rods?

Cheers,
Grunde

So are you still ok for Struble components, as the company has ceased to exist?

Jeroen, are you serious?

THAT is an umitigated disaster. I have looked all overl the the place for reelseats that I like HALF as much, and I can't find any.

I just love their old-fashioned commitment to solid engineering.

I must go and do some research and buy up stock, if what you say is true.

Disaster.

Don't forget David Norwich as a local blank manufacturer.

It is a pity, isn't it about Struble? The company is a part of fly fishing heritage.

REC makes some good reelseats, as do Alps. I like Struble more though.

Bass, if you have trouble sourcing Struble reel seats, my mate Martin still has some stock.
