Got my flies in yesterday - sweet job guys! Pretty impressed with the 2012 delivery :D

Special mention to Marshall (Voodoo child) for his flies. Must be a huge amount of work in them, they look absolutely fantastic. Looking forward to giving them a whirl.

And thanks to Janko for flybitching :)

Close to the truth FFFW,

I think that there is an opening, somewhere near me, on Oct. 1.

However, I will still be fishing then!!!

Awesome!!

Arrived home from a short trip, and, there they were!!
Gently resting, in the mailbox, after their arduous trip across 1/2 the globe.

Great flies everyone, some excellent examples of the "fly tiers art",
all of them look too good to actually fish with.

Janesch, thanks very much for putting in all the organizational effort.

Since I was amongst the last to get my contribution away, I am seriously considering beginning to tie up the next batch.

Right after the next fishing trip, I think!!

Paul,
That marabou flash bunny jig hook streamer is mine. Sculpin / molting crayfish (green) / sucker imitation. Not sure but it may be called a Meat Puppet :D You can strip it but it's designed for fishing dead drift or semi-tight in slower water off a floating line (straight length of like 6 LB tippet). Quarter up or across with a mend to sink it. Intent is for it to fish hook up and slither along the bottom through the cobble, crevices, trenches and holes. Also fishes well under an indicator. Rust colored works sometimes which I'm guessing is more leech / adult crayfish.

Thanks Eric, I'll give it a go. I keep meaning to tie up some "go anywhere" trout streamers that fish like bass and toga flies. I think I'm going to have a busy October tying. I'll tie some of these too!

Cheers, Paul

I'll have swap pics from Janko up tonight

Campbell, It's not a strict crayfish imitation, but fishes well during the summer molt. For a straight up imitation, I'd suggest Tim's Dead Drift Crayfish under a big indicator. If you also have big stones, what's turned into a hot fly this year is the Stonedaddy, a cross between a baby cray and stone nymph. Probably work great even if you don't have big stoneflies. (We almost always fish a heavy bomb nymph here, so this is just a stone tweaked to have some overlap with a baby cray)

Thanks Janesch. It is the fly I thought it was a John Barr creation (I think).

Thanks for the other links eric, I like the Stonefly/Craw hybrid fly.

Will whip a few up.

Thanks

Campbell
