Looks good man. Glad someone besides me likes the mid-long belly stuff. :)

I think that you are keeping the color change well inside the rod tip from what I can see in that video. Correct?

The Powerspeys rear taper extends well into the colored portion before transitioning into level running line. I think about 2/3 the way down it. Have you tried casting the Powerspey with some additional overhang? Say with 2/3 or all of the colored segment outside the rod tip? I don't fish that way much, but it's fun to do. Really energetic motions and good loop tension and the thing will just bomb out there on the shoot.

Yes, correct Mattklara, part where color is changing is inside guides. I saw Simon G, suggestion about keeping this part "inside rod" and try it in these casts.

No, I din not try casting with overhang but I will try and do next time.

I could say that I really new in Spey Casting with Double handed Rods, about 3 years. But comparing with single haded rod in percents is: 90% casting (FISHING) SH rods and 10% with DH rods.

It will be better in future

Djorje,

I think the casting looks great! Keep it up.

I agree with Simon that the Powerspey is most castable with the colored portion inside the rod. They designed it that way.

We just happened to be playing around with the overhang and working it like a really long shooting head, and boy does it go out if you hit the tension and timing right. It surprised us how good it was. Something new/different fun that you can try if you feel like it. :)

Take care.

Matt

15' rod and 81' head line (should be 82' as it is CND GPS LDF 10/11 but it is only 81' against a tape measure).
I'm here just for the chicks.
