ACA Angler's Fly Distance

For any of you that compete in the ACA Angler's Fly Distance (or equivalent ICSF event); how much overhang are you carring before the final cast? I've just started practicing and I can't carry more than ~ 15' of overhang with out the loop falling apart.

I generally have a overhang of ~7ft, this allows for the haul - I'm only a novice at this event with casts between 50-60m

What outfits have you guys put together for this event? There are quite a few options for a 9'1" single handed rod capable of casting a 310 gr head .
