100ft into a slight headwind on a damp day can be a huge cast. You can't rely on shooting so you have to carry. In Norway we had still and wet conditions in the qualifiers. In the finals I had perfect wind for minute and half, the bit where I couldn't hang on to the line :p, and a cross on shoulder wind for the last minute and half. The two remaining finalists both had on shoulder winds. Serbia slight head wind. In Scotland we had tail wind - big casts, mid 130s, head wind, low 110s and less and tail wind.

Cheers, Paul

last question.
we all know that it would be good to have 2 rods for distance-just in case. if we talk about sage rods, what would be your choice
2tcr
1tcr-1tcx
is there any big difference between those two rods, when we talk about competition distance casting?
p.s
what did you cast in Serbia?
cheers

If I break my rod, I'll borrow one.

For sea trout I use Echo Extreme Distance 10' #8 (ED8100-4), but I will be giving it up (sell if someone wants it) when I get a new blank as I feel I need to cast "with a handbrake on" with the Echo. And I don't like casting like that. I tried a #10 9' CTS Revo and liked it. So, I went for almost same direction with my blank choise.

Well if you're going all that way you may as well do what I do and borrow a rod and make it up as you go. Fishing beforehand? I need to book my flights this week!

Hey Paul,
fishing? Am in for sure!

We could move to Glomma for grayling, brown trout and pike.
Or we could go to the fjord for pollack, cod, makerel.
And then there is Salmon and Sea trout in the rivers.

I would prefer to hang on a cuple of days.
How about that?

Hanging on can work for me too. I think I need to be in around the championships from Wednesday, but will check up.

Cheers! Paul

I will take a flight Hamburg to Oslo. If you take a flight there, too we could meet up there and then rent a car together with Andrej and Marc. Or maybe someone could offer us a lift and we would rent a car afterwards and then hang on some days for fishing.
Wednesday around noon I wanna be in Fagerness for sure!

Hi All
Do you know by any chance if in Norway, where the WC will take place, there are going to be some places where you can buy the line or leader in case you pack your suitcase in hurry and forgot things( line dressing- what ever?)
cheers

Achtung all participants.
There will be 76 casters participating all together 298 times during the two days of competition in WC 2012. To make this work, we need to be effective and all casters must be ready to go when it´s their turn. There will be 2 minutes in "transfer-time" between each caster. If you´re ready to start before the 2 minutes have past, that´s great! We will give more information during the technical meeting on thursday. Don´t miss it!
