That is one unbelieveable brown, Pete!

Details, please - what did you catch it on, lake or stream (no place names :-). My guess that it comes out of a lake, but there are, as far as I know, only two places in the world, where salmon-systems hold browns of that caliber and that's Russia/Kola and Iceland. Judging from your cap, I say you're in Iceland ;-).

Great flycasters don't think straight - they track straight.....

If it moves - and shouldn't, use duct tape...
If it's stuck - and should move, use WD40...

Yes it was in Iceland on a river.
The fly used was a black ghost streamer.

Hey,

After lurking around for years it is time for my first post… wow!

Originally I am from Germany but moved recently to Melbourne for the next two years.

Here is a picture of some permit that were cruising the surf at the Yucatan peninsula this year. They were feeding right at the shore and were not spooky at all. So I manage to catch one (of course the smallest one...) and then they disappeared.

Cheers Friedrich

Nice picture. Permit are definitely on my "to do" list along with a everything else! Would be sweet to see them in the surf like that. Steve.
