Just discovered this material and threw the fly below together to try it out. Its a very interesting long white fibre (natural) that I think will take dye well. I've only tried it with marker pens so far and it grabs the colour. Its silvery white and shines like silk. It is very fine and works well with taperizing scissors.

I will report back.

Or something out of a snag pile?

Too many flies... not enough fishing.

Haven't checked this thread for a while, there are some really great flies here. My brother has started flyfishing in the salt and that was the motivation to do some proper tying for the first time in maybe 18 months. Shocking! They came out about as well as they would have before that time so that's something at least :-).

This is a collection of Deceivers. I was running low on bucktail plus the fish my brother is after mess up flies apparently so I went with Supreme Hair. Size 1/0 and 2/0 IIRC.

Thunder Creek Minnows, one of my favourite lures. Apparently herring and tailor like them too. 2/0 I think.

Some synthetic Clousers. Not really very happy with these. I tried to taper them out a bit. I'd like to try some taperising scissors.
