Hardcore! What sort of temperature is the water you're fishing?
Sport fishing with live kittens?
Too disgusting to be true?
You be the judge!

Thanks to you all!

Its around 2-4 degrees, so not to bad. The fish is really in a good condition, perhaps due to lots of the small scrimp (Krill). The cold is really not a problem except for fingers.

We've found that for flyfishing in very cold conditions, the best solution is a pair of thin merino wool gloves inside a pair of nitrile gloves (the kind you use in a lab). Allows you to feel the line and keep dry/warm at the same time. Way better than neoprene gloves (or no gloves at all).

Thanks for info. :) Havent tried that. Neoprene are no good. They dont get wet inside during a day? I have used Zealskin since they breathe, but their really not durable.

Yes, at some stage they get moist from perspiration - it's a good idea to bring two pairs for a day of fishing.

I failed to see the attraction.....until the last photo
There is magic in it. Let the most absent-minded of men be plunged in his deepest reveries - stand that man on his legs, set his feet a-going, and he will infallibly lead you to water, if water there be in all that region.

Hello Alf...

I must have stared at your pic for minutes at a time, many times over - just cannot grasp the conditions you fish in. WOW actually. For me this is an amazing picture - you sitting on an iceblock with a fly rod in hand, snow falling, and to top it off, right next to the sea :ninja . (Contrasted with shorts, warm sunshine, sea spray and a warm ocean of 24-28 Deg C :p )

Great going Alf. Hope the fish keep biting. BTW, what fly are you using to imitate the Krill?

Stay Warm
