Ah right, now I understand you. It should be a specified head length, for example 8-10 metres. I'll put a proposal to AAPGAI this year that we (AAPGAI) research it. That will go to vote and we'll see what happens. Easy; job done.

Just saw this one...

Actually dude, I won the full line 2 weight by a large margin and the 8 weight shootinghead, Lars won the 6 weight shootinghead....

Christ, memory of a goldfish. To catch a fish you first have to think like a fish.

I wouldn't know about that. I can remember all the fish. It's the other shit I have problems with; names, birthdays, favourite colours, who slept with who, have I been here before? I thought it was just being a man, but no it's much more than that; it's being a fish.

Here in Hungary people have three names, they're either Adam, Zoltan or - fuck I can't remember the third. But even when I can remember them all I still get them wrong most of the time.

I've always been like that. I think.

Of course you can remember all the fish, you're a fisherman like the rest of us, and those we forget we just make up :p

Names, don't get me started, you where who?

How does Akos take it being called Adam or Zoltar :D

Ah thanks! Yes that's the third :p They actually have a law in Hungary that it's illegal to call your child any other name apart from Adam, Zoltan or Akos. Pretty smart the Hungarians. I wanted to name my child "Thunder" but a) this is illegal and b) I don't have one.

So Lasse if you have a student who is already a reasonable caster who wants to learn how to use a shooting head, once you've explained 'overhang', you just tell them to do what they do with a conventional wf line? No other changes?

Hi Peter
In short, yes. Any reasonable caster already know what overhang is, maybe not by word, but to cast any wf good, you need the right amount. Most already use overweight lines, so the difference in power and speed isn't the big issues, they use to much of both anyway...

Btw. The majority here use shootingheads or wannabe shootingheads, ie rio outbound, 40+ barstools, guideline, loop zpey or similar shorthead heavy lines, if they aren't uplining more normal wf's.

Tell me the difference you see in casting a wf and aa shootinghead please?

Cheers

List of legal male names in Hungary:

OK, it is not as exciting as in England for example where all the guys have these really special and unique names like Paul and Mike. :-)

Counterflex isn't an issue with a long full line carry and may actually be beneficial. With a short head it simply pulls the loop open. This requires a different stroke and haul. Yes you can use the same stroke for both but I don't think this is optimal.

Hi Lasse,

my thinking is currently aligned with Paul on this, I'd be interested in getting your thoughts too.

Cheers
