Gacka Gathering

Hi guys,

I'd like to know who is attending the gathering on the Gacka so I can start to arrange things. The meet is 21-22 July, but prior to this we'll be here for some fishing. Closest airport is Zagreb. The Gacka is an easy 1.5 hr drive. Fishing permits are 35 Euros/day. Full board and lodging is 33 Euros/day.

We'll have fishing and casting demos from the best Croatian anglers and guides. There will be Hungarians. John Field from the USA is here. We have a large lecture room for video presentations and flytying.

For attending we have a small fee of 20 Euros for Eastern Europeans and 100 Euros for the rest of the world! You will get a Sexyloops hat. Instructors are free (no hat :p ).

The official launch of the Sexyloops rods will be held. There will be a Shootout. It's all about to happen....

would be nice to get there. I don't really interested in the Gacka, tho...Kupa, Kupica ?

Hi Bob,

They get two days of instruction, both in fishing techniques on the water from the most experienced guides in Croatia and casting instruction from MCIs (of which there are now six in this region). I'm planning a full programme. I would like to try to cover the expenses of the demonstrators. These are the best instructors in this region. Places are limited and there will be a high proportion of instructors to paying guests.

About what kind of accommodation on Gacka (Otocac) we are talking about ?

I would like to fish Bosnia for week or so , and than jump to Gacka on 20th ( or earlier if there is some good fishing on Kupa ?), spend there two days , win the competition in DC , and than back to Serbia ,but still alive .
What is your plan ,if there is any

Here on the Gacka the Majsic hotel can sleep 30. I've been here the last week or so. It's comfortable, well priced and the restaurant stays open late! It's close to the river. There are plenty of other options around too if necessary.

My plan (!) is to fish that week on Kupa and then Gacka. The previous week in Bosnia, on Pliva and Ribnic. I have to drop John back in Budapest for the weekend in-between so he can spend some time with his family. I will probably fish Danube that weekend in Budapest, chase women and so on.

How's that for a plan? :p

OK Kupa and Gacka it is. In which case John and I may float the Drava the first week. Will have to float it soon to see what gives. Sent you my new number (of course!).

I'll start making a list of those attending. Will Dragan be coming with you?
