The E21 Carrot Stix are still around. I am not sure if they still make fly rods. They have a decent following in the US bass circuit.

Cheers,

So when the pivot point wears a bit surely it won't track straight and tailing loops abound.
Why invest £67k to get a tight loop when Paul can fix you up for an hour, and its considerably cheaper.
Like £66,900 cheaper!

Mark, that's because people don't like to practice casting, and would rather pay someone to invent a casting machine than invest time in improving their own skills :D

If they could invent a wanking machine, that would free a lot of my day up for other things

Moving parts on a fly rod?
I don't think that is a good idea.

No contact between the hand and the blank? Could be a fun gimmick for a handful of casters (who will probably ask for free or highly reduced "samples"), but will never be anything seriously considered by anglers. Meaning people who still wish to catch fish when they go out.
I really don't see any advantages what so ever with this "thing". It's trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist. Which in turn is trying to fill a demand that doesn't exist. Sorry...

It may increase damping. That's not what they're marketing. On the other hand it might have the opposite effect too!

I like innovation. I don't like the current trend in marketing. I haven't seen the video and so can't comment on anything apart from the concept. I did like Trident!

With regards this product, I would have to try it. I personally am very skeptical, I can feel the rod bend under the cork. And the suff about reserve power is crap. I'm pretty sure people will still be telling me the rod is a big spring in another 40 years!

Cheers, Paul

Seems like they managed to raise enough money for molds.

So when production rolls some of them might get in SLoopers hand for a test. At least i hope so :D
