For the love of feathers.
excellent front page, Farrah! I remember Babus being surprised when I claimed the lounge table as my fly tying area. But not only was it practical but it made an interesting centre piece to the house

So I was surprised to be shocked as I reached for the rake in our garage today only to be faced with a dead pheasant hanging by its nose amidst the gardening implements - For the love of FEATHERS!

I've met some otherwise normal flyfisherman - Bass, Pyko, Stout, and I guess you can call Ray normal - and I often wonder is it the same in their homes? Is this what it means to live with a flyfisherman? Is there a support group?
Anyone??

I'd be hard pressed to call Ray normal to be honest. Fuck me, I thought I wasn't normal until I met Ray.
At least he put the pheasant in the garage, Farrah! I had a couple of pheasants drying in the kitchen once, which I had forgotten about until I heard a "rustling" and noticed that they were moving around sort of interestingly. Maggots! Millions of them! No idea how they got there.
But what followed was really interesting too; I shook all the maggots away (before returning the pheasants to the kitchen) and this sparked a war of enormous proportions between ants and the earwigs on one side, and the maggots on the other. It took two or three ants to wrestle with one maggot. Basically it was a wonderful nature programme. If only David Attenborough had been there people would still be talking about it now.
Cheers, Paul

LOL,
I'll let Farrah take a look at this and respond if she wants...
Lars, Farrah can out cast me on my 3 wt, has caught more grayling on the fly, and was a good biologist when she worked for Fisheries... she just doesn't understand my sense of "order" nor does she like the detail thinking required to sit and tie flies.
The pheasant started out in the porch... but I didn't think it was cold enough to hang properly.
