Exotic Destinations for TV Show - Where would you like to fish?

Post by Sudesh »

Hi Guys...

I find myself in a very interesting position. I have to come up with a list of destinations that are prime locations to shoot a TV programme, as well as potential sponsors.

I am concerned that I will only recommend my favourite destinations and sponsors, so I am looking for your assistance in the interest of objectivity.

Please can you propose destinations and sponsors. You are welcome to PM me if you do not want to "go public" with your suggestions.

Many thanks
Sudesh

Sudesh, where these dudes from?
Like chasin Asp in Hungary or Winter grayling on the Czech-Autrian border has to be mean exotic to South Africans :upside:

Cheers
Karel

Cool - congratulations Sudesh!!

NZ and much of Australia would be high on my list, especially Western Australia. Malaysia I think is unbelievably exciting. The Rockies of Canada and Montana. The Balkans. Not sure how "exotic" any of these are!

Sounds great Sudesh!!!

Cheers, Paul

I took an Australian to Norway for some SWF'ing a couple of years ago. He told me several times that it was the most beautiful country he had been to (and he is an airline pilot, so he had seen the world). Lofoten, Northern Norway, is mindblowing. The fishing (fresh and salt) is awesome and the scenery is fabulous.

I think Iceland scores a lot of points for scenery, fishing and geological fireworks.

Congrats Sudesh , you will be perfect for that role !!!
If this is about taking South Africans to the exotic destinations , it must be considered that what is "exotic " for SA citizens it is not the same"exotic" for North Part of the World citizens .
In the past few years I manage to send about dozens SA ffman to Bosnia and they find it very exotic !
For me that is normal ,not exotic ! Exotic for me is Yellowfishing on Sterky or SWFF on Indian Ocean , what is normal , and not so exotic for SA citizens !
Anyway , the missing , and thus "exotic" thing here in SA might be fast , cold and clear Rivers with say Grayling or Salmon , exotic species seeing from here .
So
Scandinavia (Salmon)
Rusia (Trout, Salmon, Grayling)
Mongolia (Taimen)
Bosnia (Greyling )
Argentina (Trout)
Chile (Trout)
Cuba(Tarpon, hurry up until Castro is still alive .Once Americans take it over , it will be most expensive fishing destination, now it is one of the cheapest one..)

and of course -New Zealand , Paul &Co can tell you much more ...

I might probably help you in more details regarding some of listed destinations ...

Cheers,
Zoran

Ah Saltwater! Exmouth would be up on my list. Apart from the town itself it's quite exotic :p. Talk to Jono Shales if you're looking at this option. Darwin maybe more exotic. Scooby doo is your contact there.

Cheers Paul

Hi Guys...

WOW!!! Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions. Please keep them coming. I would certainly not have come up with 99% of them.

Just to clarify, by exotic I meant anywhere outside South Africa. I will also be looking at destinations within South Africa, but I am quite familiar with those.

Thanks once again. All suggestions are most appreciated.

Regards
Sudesh

Seychelles, though I presume production costs would have to be suitably extreme.

Don't think anyone's done a tv show or movie about the fishing there, and perhaps the cost is the reason, but for sheer 'extremeness' it's got to be up there.

Best of luck.
