your FP's have all been great, not your average thoughts and reasonings on living the 'fly fishing life' and something i always looked forward to reading on sundays.

thanks again :) ,

Holy shit, Mike!
Last time I spent a complete campfire at Paul's place having four people (you included) trying to make me understand the use of the word "bollocks" - which I still do avoid to use  :D :p
I think NOW it's time for another campfire to teach me "Bugger". :p
My dictionary really puts out some very mean things here!?

I don't think Mike meant it literally, Bernd :p Bugger and bollocks are pretty much interchangeable, apart from dog's bollocks of course. Dogs buggering would generally be considered bad and seldom used.

So to say "bugger" is bollocks is it?
I need more gin to get behind that concept anyway! :D

They're not completely interchangeable, and you couldn't just replace the word bollocks with bugger, Bernd.

Bollocks = bugger it, which is what Mike said, he just shortened it to "Bugger". You could say "bollocks to it".
Bugger you! = Bollocks to you!
I feel buggered = I feel bolloxed - ok that's the same.
It was bollocks = It was a bugger.
Dog's bollocks = no equivalent.

It's pretty easy when you get the hang of it

Well, I feel bolloxed to buggery, so I'm off to bed now.

In terms of teaching Bernd the meanings of the words we should look at the origins.

The word bollocks can be literally translated at testicles.

Bugger on the other hand is something completely different and means a different form of sex that I don't think that you would like to be shown around a camp fire unless you like boy scouts.

Both words can be used as exclamations which normally mean "good heavens that was not particularly good".

I think we need the eloquence of someone like Mark to explain this a little better.
