Mike--Glad you liked what you grabbed (technically, I guess it's what I grabbed, but hey...). The "shaved eyebrow" flies are from the "Heritage Collection," just for you...
I know that the reel is about four sizes too big for either of the two rods, but now you are encouraged to expand your salmon/salt sticks!
Happy holidays, and thanks again, Mike, for supporting the auction.

Yeah, yeah. Steelhead, blah, blah. Whatever.
Incidentally, Jason, do you remember meeting me and tying flies together at Arricks Fly Shop a few years back when your Dad was running schools through the shop?
Dec is a fine teacher and tier. Saw him at Spey Clave last year. Never fished the JC Rock, myself.

Matt--Arrick's? That was a few years back... I think the last school my father ran through the shop was what, 7 or 8 years ago? Incidentally, I may be headed your way (Pac NW) sometime sooner rather than later. I'll let you know if I get out there this winter/spring...
Dec is a good guy, a good caster, and has good flies, too. I fished the 'Rock for the first time this fall on [insert gasp] GL fish. Actually, the very first fish that I put it over was a coho that nailed it on the third pass...then ran under a log.
