Thanks Jan. No mention that the camera can be submerged even though it has an underwater mode. Is a waterproof case required?

I don't know about that Matt. I have the Optio WP 30. I was looking for some features that would allow me to do some things the Pentax won't do. And I was trying to get into something that didn't require me to enter into the DSLR world. I'm not nearly the photographer that Jan, Peter, Bob or lots of others are here. Just the occasional good fishing shot and my daughters sailing from on the water. Rich

Hi Bee, I really enjoyed fishing with AG. The last day we fished together, the weather was against us. It was raining consistantly, we had a slow start to the day, and when we finally got onto the fish the river coloured up :glare: I feel like we have unfinished business, so I'm trying to temp him out into the wilderness a little

Rich,
Where did you see that price for the G9? PM if you want or post in the clear.

The G9 is a great camera. Have a feel of one in the shop.
Many protographers use them as a back up or in spaces where they have to be a bit more discrete.
Have a read of this before purchasing a camera. Theres more to cameras than Megapixels.

The only thing with the underwater housing is that when you wish to take a photo just on the surface that it tends to be not as good.
The waterproof cameras are great for those waterline shots. They provide a heap less bulk and weight.

Beautiful photo. What was the camera?
Having the ability to get an uncovered lense down to the water with a waterproof camera is a bonus.
Yes computers display differently from one to another. CRTs used to be the go for graphic manipulation though some of the glass screen LCDs may produce better results these days.
CRT 72 DPI
LCD 96 DPI
Print 360 DPI: Images really show up in print media.
Different printers will print differently to some extent.
Magazine editors in the past no the difference changing print shops.
Companies like HP were and may have achieved carrying metadata to different printers to get the same result from printer to printer.
