Spring Casting Weekend

We had our local Spring Casting Weekend last weekend. We had one dude casting from Slovakia, so that makes it international.

Venue was a good choice. A lot of music for the money, excellent food, and helluva lot of tolerance from the personel.

Funnily enough, the Czech fishing union did not participate in any way :p

A simple distance shootout was held saturday afternoon, Distance unlimited (Best of 3 tries, use what you want except for sinking lines, intermediates allowed). I usd me 5wt and new ED. Silver medalist dude threw some 29.70m. I really fucked up my first cast throwing some 25m, public started ordering champagne. Then I dissapointed them with 34.21m on my second cast.

There will be a Autumn Casting weekend, so, anyone wanting to pop into the Czech Rep. and take part is welcome. International experts would be nice.

The 10th Casting weekend should roughly be held mid September, prolly again in South East Moravia, near Zlin and Brno.
And again, anyone is welcome to join.

Note, silver medailist doesn't get out casting too often, basically spends two trips chasing imaginary salmon with a DH each year, and besides that hardly ever goes fishing. Besides Czechfly being his page.

Andy: The location of the Casting Weekend (CW) was near to Slovak borders, so it was no problem for us :-)

Yeah, Pike is right. Darn close, so close actually, any above average caster will make that cast with ease. :p :p

at dRunkeld we had guys casting from the USA, Denmark, Sweden, France. this board has some real casting talent!

Mike: Karel is supposed to beat us with 3wt rod too. But he probbably wanted to cast over 35m so he picked up 5wt rod. But we will see on September.

Yes, Karel is right. You can see interesting gifts for all casters (reels, chest pack, Jameson and Tullamore Dew bottles) and especially u-boat from Explorer.
And I would like to highlight excellent food such as black pudding, grilled steaks from pork and chicken breasts, bread crumped meat etc. I really liked it. Excellent Czech beer, mojitos, griotka and Jameson for very good price helped us to stay fresh till the early morning.
